She was probably pushing her limits with Erik but right there and then, she couldn't bring herself to regret the situation. The fact was clear and simple, Cassidy needed to get out of that damn basement and breath in the fresh air. They could've done the whole sneaking business, but she had the feeling that would've ended badly for them both. That was the main reason why she had one simple plan. Rolling her shoulders and scooping the long brown great coat off the stand near the guest room door, Maddison spun around to face Cassidy with a raised brow. “We'll go out the front door like it's something we always do, they won't think twice.” Okay, Erik probably would, but she could take the blame later.
Straightening her white shirt and jeans, Maddison led the way out of the guest room and down the hall, making a beeline toward the front door with Cassidy hopefully on her tail. “Erik, I'm taking Cassidy out, she's screwed her boots. We'll be back later.” She didn't wait for his mumbled yell before opening the front door and reaching back to grab Cassidy's arm, shoving her through the door before closing it when she was out after the assassin. Truthfully they could both get in a lot of trouble for leaving like that, but really there was only so much he could do. If he started lashing out, well, if Cassidy didn't fight him, she would. Despite the fact she wasn't in the same amount of danger as she used to be, her urge to fight against so called authority never left.
Yet, the only time these days she'd outright stand up to any of the elders or the king himself was when it concerned Anni and Cass. There were many reasons why she did, but the main was that she couldn't help herself. Somehow, she'd formed a connection with the two, and the fact they were both so close to Vivian's age did nothing to smother her over-protective urges. Maybe guilt was in there slightly too. The two were like daughters, if she let something happen to either of them, it would be Frankie all over again. Madison clicked her tongue slightly, leading the way down the path toward her old commodore. “See? He's not running after us yet. Just move quickly.” She called back, moving to the drivers seat and slipping inside.
The next question was where exactly she was whisking the woman off to. Tapping her fingers on the steering wheel thoughtfully, she spared Cassidy a thoughtful glance. She needed fresh air, and, things looked so different in the city during the day. The grin brightening on her face, she nodded slowly, starting the engine. The park. It was the best place not only to meet people who weren't just wanting a one-night-stand, plus it would give the other woman a chance to see how bright the place was. They could always go get her the shoes afterward if Cassidy so wanted. Leaning back into the soft seat, Madison gave a hum. “How does the park sound for a first stop?” WORD COUNT: five two four TAGGED: cassidy rodova NOTES: there! [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,399,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] | [bg=393939]“Let’s go then.”
Rushing her way down the stairs and down to her basement of a room, Cassidy grinned like an idiot the entire way. Normally she would have been terrified to walk through the house, only at the effect it would cause if Erik Krosa, her mother’s cousin, and therefore family and legal guardian since the death his cousin, if he had important company over. However, her mind had gone completely blank at those sorts of thoughts, as it was Maddison, and being caught up in the moment tended to have that side-effect. Setting down the small green alligator plush, Cassidy swung her body over to her messy closet, looking inside for a moment before remembering her black denim jacket was on the floor next to her desk.
Perhaps she should clean her room up a little, organize the closet of clothes and actually put the shirts that lay around in the drawers that were there. Maybe if she was on a roll, put her art supplies where she would actually be able to find them instead of making a bigger mess of her room trying to find them before getting tired and not doing what was originally planned. Eh, that was a thought for another day. Gripping the black jacket with her left hand and swinging it over her shoulders, her arms going through the sleeves as she closed the door behind her, Cassidy made her way back to the guest room and sat on the bed only to watch Maddison as she turned around with a raised brow, “We’ll go out the front door like it’s something we always do, they won’t think twice.”
Wait. What were they doing again? That was when the realization of what was going on hit her like a bullet, were they really going to go out? Cassidy frowned at the thought, knowing full well that she would more than likely be in the walkway of the wrath of Erik Krosa when they returned. She hadn’t been out of the house (unless it was the dead of night) since her mother had died, and it had been over a good six years, and half the time it’s just sneaking out to look at the stars. Yet, just knowing that Maddison would get in trouble with her only made her not want to do it even more; Maddison had been like a mother to her the past few years, especially when Cassidy needed one most, it just didn’t seem fair to the elder woman. Opening her mouth to speak against this idea, the werewolf noticed that the woman to whom she was speaking with had already left the room, causing instinctively that she follow, which she did.
Just as soon as Cassidy found herself just behind Maddison, their destination being the door, before she heard a yell over the woman’s shoulder, “Erik, I’m taking Cassidy out, she’s screwed her boots. We’ll be back later.” All the young werewolf could hear was a muffled yell due to many walls and doors between them and the king of the Krosa, just moments before something took hold of her arm and shoved her through the door and Cassidy could do nothing but stand in front of the door with the straightest look she never thought possible of her face before opening her mouth. “I’m so dead for that…” she trailed off as she noticed Maddison continue on down the path towards a vehicle parked at the end. Just noticing where the older woman was headed made Cassidy freeze, just the sight of the object sent a shock through her body.
A car, exactly what was partially the reason her mother passed away seven years ago, just after her fourteenth birthday. Things had never been the same after that, and Cassidy had to dodge every interaction with the mechanical beasts. And people think that werewolves are dangerous, was the only thought in her mind after the accident—no, the murder of her mother by someone neither of them had met. However, just knowing, and seeing that Maddison was headed to a motorized car, an old one at that, made Cassidy scared out of her mind. What if once she got in she didn’t come out? What if they had an accident like her mother and Maddison died? “See? He’s not running after us yet. Just move quickly.”
Quickly? How the hell was she supposed to move quickly if the one person she was following was headed towards something she was frightened of? No. This was her one and probably only chance to get out of the dreadful Krosa home in the daylight, and out of the king’s sights and wrath, there was no way she was going to stand there like an idiot because she was scared, she killed people for a living. She was the one thing, the last person, someone saw in their life and normally, they were terrified to see her. And to tell someone she was scared of a car? Not this time.
Spinning her head around to look at the door once more, Cassidy took the steps forward quickly to get to the car before Erik decided to actually come after them before they got away. Opening the passenger-side door with hesitation, the young werewolf slid in the side and buckled the seat-belt before gripping the seat with her nails to make sure she was secure. “How does the park sound for a first stop?” Nodding slowly, Cassidy didn’t care were they went, just so long as they got there before Erik saw them or she scared herself senseless and had to get out of the car. “Yeah, the park sounds good, it’s always beautiful at night.” WORD COUNT: Nine-Five-Five TAGGED: Maddison Jamerson NOTES: Poor Cass XD [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,399,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,399,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,399,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] | [bg=342230]“I’m so dead for that…” Yep, they both probably were. But there was no other option. They could deal with whatever Krosa decided to throw out later. Right there and then, she was determined not to think about it. It was only once she was sitting in the vehicle though that she remembered one important thing. Cassidy was terrified of them wasn't she? Swallowing, Madison turned her gaze to the woman, concern in her eyes as she watched her slowly approach the passengers seat door. Usually, she wouldn't have forced Cassidy to face the car like she was, but they only had a short amount of time before Erik actually realised what she yelled. If they'd walked, then he could have caught up after all.
Watching her as she put the seat beat on, Madison gave a small nod. Well, hopefully the traffic wasn't bad enough to slow the journey. She didn't think Cassidy had it in her to sit there for too long. “Yeah, the park sounds good, it’s always beautiful at night.” That it was, but it was always better in the day. “Relax Cass,” she murmured, pulling off slowly onto the road. “I've been driving for around a hundred years. I'm the safest person you're ever gonna get in one of these with.” Maybe not, but she was confident in her driving abilities, enough that she was sure she could keep that reputation with the other woman.
The drive thankfully, wasn't a long one, the park was over the other side of town but it was still walking distance. Maybe another day they could do the walk. Pulling into the gravel car pack, Madison parked as close as she could to the exit so they could make an easy escape if they had to. Though she doubted it would be needed. Stopping the engine, she let out a small breath, turning to look at Cassidy with a small grin. “Now, no running off, got it?” Reaching over to pull a pair of sunglasses out of the glove-box, before climbing out of the car.
The park had always been a beautiful place, with huge oaks covered the area, garden beds of bright flowers and huge clearings of lush grass. With the autumn sunlight shining down and lighting up the golden brown leaves slowly falling from the tree-tops, it really was an amazing sight that couldn't compare to the night view. Pushing her old gray hat from the back seat onto her head and balancing the sunglasses across her nose, she glanced around the crowded car park. “Come on then.” Moving off toward the main entrance, Madison glanced back to make sure Cassidy was keeping up, though she had no doubts the woman would be.
“Pick a path, this is your adventure so,” she said smoothly, waving a hand toward the different gravel paths winding their way through the trees. Whichever way they went, there were things to see, so it was up to the other woman to decide which way they started. She'd spent so many years wandering the area that no matter where they were, it wouldn't be hard to find a way back to the car. Yet looking around the area, she came to the conclusion that this wasn’t going to be as easy as she wanted it to be. Not with the amount of kids running around with their families. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,399,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] | [bg=393939]"Relax Cass, I've been driving for around a hundred years. I'm the safest person you're ever gonna get in one of these with." Oh, she had no doubt about that, not one bit, it was more the fact that there were other drivers on the road who didn't have such experience. Then again, in her own mind, Cassidy had every doubt in the book that anyone was a good driver, her mother considered herself a fantastic and smart driver, but never saw such things coming. Just because you think you can drive well, doesn't mean the world isn't out to get you.
Cassidy was, however, thankful to the fullest extent that her friend decided on the park as the first stop, a place that wasn't too far from the Krosa home. Looking out the bright window, the werewolf couldn't help but let her gaze go about the different sights that she would see in the daylight. The light began to fade slightly as the trees began to overshadow the sunlight rays beaming into the car. Noticing that the car had been parked close to the exit, Cassidy knew that her friend had done just that for a quick escape, just in case Erik decided to come after them. Letting go of the seat where her hand had been gripped tightly, the werewolf relaxed slightly as she turned towards Maddison to find a grin. "Now, no running off, got it?" Using a wrong-handed salute, the assassin grinned as well, "Of course not Madre, wouldn't dare dream of it today!"
Leaping out of the car as quickly as she could, Cassidy barely waited for Maddison to grab her sunglasses and hat before spinning around along the concrete, glancing quickly at the crowded parking lot. Perfect day to go around town, however, the fear of going home continues to weigh on her mind as she subconsciously began to follow Maddison as she moved towards the main entrance. Grinning like an idiot and humming a small tune, Cassidy skipped forward to catch up the distance between her and the fast-walking Maddison. "Pick a path, this is your adventure so," noticing sharply that her elder was waving a hand to multiple gravel paths.
Looking at the different paths, Cassidy looked around, the trees, the leaves, and the gravel all looked the same, but a small red pebble on the side of the way farthest to the left, the young werewolf rushed forward, turning around to walk backwards for a second to see if Maddison had noticed her choose, and the farther she got, the more she just wanted to yell. "You coming, Madd? I can't wait all day!"
